March News
8/3/08 I am off to Belgium (Ypres) and Paris on Monday. It's the school Battlefields Trip. Mum is coming to dogsit for the week and I will be back next Saturday.
2/3/08 The dogs and I competed at UKA Hereford today. It was a bit of a 5 fault itis day. Tigger Had a pole down in jumping, sweep had a run by in agility (all my fault!) and Bells had a run by in her first novice steeplechase (a gun shot went off and spooked her!). Inca howver managed a good clear in Senior Steeplechase. Sweep went clear in Senior Jumping and ended up 6th and finally Bella did a lovely round in beginners jumping to come 4th. The best result of the day though had to be Jess (Inca's auntie) and her doberman Indi who won Beginners jumping.
22/3/08 A very disappointing start to the Easter Holiays. We were just about to leave for Dashin Dogs yesterday when the telephone rang to say the whole show had been cancelled. The right decision if the wind here is anything to go by! So the doggies will have to wait until Wallingford for their first KC Show of the year. Still on the bright side I had a nice lie in bed this morning and I now have more time to get all of my school work up to date - OH JOY!!!!!
16/3/08 - I have just returned from a very tiring week away with the school. We went to Ypres in Belgium and The Somme in France for a First World War Battlefields Tour. The week was finished off by a trip to Paris and Disneyland! However I am all Disneyed out! Next Year I think I will take the pupils to the Studios rather than the park for a change of scene!! The dogs were plesed to see me and we are o ff to Dashin Dogs for Easter weekend. This will be our first Kennel Club Show of the year and I am really looking forward to it.
30/3/08 Well I agreed to a last minute judging appointment at Agility Addicts. I regretted it when I realised I'd be leaving at 5am because the clocks went forward last night! Any way it turned out to be a nice morning judging starters and novice jumping followed by the open large easter egg race (egg and spoon). The courses all seemed to run well but trying to watch a dog and see what a handler is doing with an egg and spoon is a nightmare!. Talk about needing eyes in the back of your head! My dogs got to run in the afternoon classes. Inca went like a snail. Auntie Jess has been stopping him on the dog walk to ensure he gets his contact and so he decided he would walk down the ramp and slowly stop! Needless to say he was unplaced. Tigger was trained around Starters Agility but still came home with a 5th rosette. Bella ran over the standard height which suits her far better. She did a lovely elementary jumping round to win the class and thus win her up into the next grade. Sweep exceeded himself by recording the 2 fastest times in novice agility and thus winning the class. He actually listened to me today! and I ran him with more confidence. I will have to leave him in the van for the morning more often! It seemed to have a calming effect!!!!
