Mountlochan Campsie Glen (AWS)
Tigger
Tigger was born on 26th January 2006. He is a Border Collie. His Mum is called Manderian Solstice Belle of Mountlochan (Corrie) and was second in the Agility Voice Starter Dog of the Year League table in 2005. His father is Gemma Hanekom's Advanced Agility dog Forest Trail (Boo). He was born into a litter of seven puppies and at birth was given the nickname Twiggy.
Tigger came home to live with me in March 2006 and he has been the model puppy ever since. He is quite a quiet little boy and thus very easy to live with. In April he began his obedience training with Angela Shears. He learned very quickly how to sit, heel and go down. I have also taught him a few tricks but I am still working on these! (Hopefully my new christmas present will help me here - Mary ray's How to teach your dog tricks). His wait is also improving and I think that I am going to need this when I start his agility training because I think he might be a little quick for me!!
Tigger attended a Toni Dawkins puppy training morning in Novemeber and I am now trying to teach him go on's with his favourite toy, a 'ball'. He will begin his agility training 'proper' in January with Helen Brown.
Tigger has also done a little bit of ring craft and has on one occassion been shown. This was at the Richmond Championship Show in September. He was entered in Minor Puppy and Puppy. Unfortunately he did not get placed but I think that was largely down to me. I had never shown a dog before and was very nervous. These nerves I think transfered to Tigger who did not move as well as he could. Tigger was however very well behaved throughout!
In December Tigger went for his first swimming lesson at Greyfriars in Guildford. He took to it like a duck to water and loved retrieving the tennis ball!
On Christmas Day Tigger went to the Army Tank Training Grounds for his walk with Curly, Inca, Sweep and my sister's two dogs Kipper and Whizz. They were joined by my Mum's new labrador puppy Wellington
Click on the link above to view a video of Tigger training indoors. I am afraid it is my worst move - the flick flack. I hate them!!!!!
